4 Reasons To Hire Us To Clean Your Dryer Vent
We only clean vents and ducts, nothing else.
All we do is clean vents and ducts, all day, every day.
We aren’t an HVAC contractor that offers dryer vent cleaning as an add-on service. Nor, are we a traditional cleaning company that offers dry vent cleaning along with many other services.
As a result, we are very good at what we do because it’s the only thing we do.
We do not use outdated dryer vent cleaning systems that can damage your vent
Negative Air Cleaning Can Damage Your Dryer Vent
Traditional negative air cleaning systems do a fine job cleaning hard metal dryer vent ducts.
In fact, they do such a good job that the negative air method combined with aggressive brushing has dominated professional vent cleaning since the 1950s.
However, the negative air method can damage aluminum flexible ducts, the most common type of dryer vent duct in Phoenix and Scottsdale.
Normally, when your dryer blows air into a duct, it places the duct under positive pressure. This, in turn, causes the flexible duct to slightly expand.
A negative pressure cleaning system sucks the air out of the dryer vent, which causes it to contract.
Since the foil vent wall is not accustomed to contraction forces, it can develop leaks, especially around seams in the duct.
To add to that, violently brushing the thin walls of the duct while it’s under negative pressure further increases the chances of damaging the vent.
Once the vent starts leaking it begins to blow dryer lint into your wall cavity. Eventually, the lint makes its way into the rooms of the house in the form of house dust.
Furthermore, small leaks create dams of lint in the duct. Which, in turn, causes the duct to clog up faster, resulting in more frequent cleaning.
So, while a negative air system is not guaranteed to cause leaks in the duct, it’s just not worth the risk when there are better options available.
Our positive pressure system will clean your dryer vent thoroughly without the risk of damage
Our system runs under positive pressure so it will not suck the dryer vent inward. Instead, the vent is gently pushed outward, similar to the pressure created by the dryer.
Also, instead of using an aggressive bristle brush on the walls of the vent, our system uses a whip with a compressed air nozzle on the end.
While the whip vigorously brushes the wall of the vent, the rounded nozzle and positive air flow coming out of the nozzle significantly reduce the potential impact forces created by the whip.
Furthermore, the air coming out of the nozzle under high pressure reaches into the nooks and crannies of the vent. As a result, it blows out the lint without damaging the duct.
We are locally owned & operated with extensive ductwork experience
Our owner spent over a decade diagnosing and fixing ductwork problems in homes throughout the Valley as part of the APS & SRP energy auditing program.
As a result, we can identify the dust collection trouble points in your HVAC system. And, we can give recommendations on how to fix it so you do not need to clean your ducts so often.
Since we diagnose but do not fix duct problems, you’ll have a knowledgeable, independent voice on your side when you talk with your HVAC contractor.
Why are there so many dryer vent cleaning service companies in Phoenix & Scottsdale?
Poor Quality Construction
The reason there are so many dryer vent cleaning services in Phoenix and Scottsdale is because of poor quality construction.
As I’m sure you already know, fast and cheap is the name of the game for new home construction in Arizona. With that mindset alone, there is a sacrifice in quality.
Furthermore, when building inspectors are overworked during a building boom, they do not have the time to catch all the mistakes in a project.
Contractors make more money when they do a bad job, and if they never get taken to task by an inspector, they never change. As a result, poor-quality work becomes the norm.
So, since so many homes have duct and vent systems that do not operate properly, they have increased lint build-up. Consequently, they need to be cleaned much more often than properly installed vents.
This is the reason why there are so many dryer vent cleaning services in Scottsdale and Phoenix.
How often do you need to clean your dryer vent in Arizona?
Some dryer vents should be cleaned every six months, others can go for ten years or more without a cleaning.
This depends on three factors:
- You – If you clean your lint screen every time you use the dryer, you won’t need to have your vents cleaned as often.
- Your dryer – Some dryers exhaust air better than others. If you have a low-quality dryer you’ll be cleaning the vent more often.
- Your dryer vent – A correctly installed sheet metal vent can go for over a decade without a thorough cleaning. On the other hand, a poorly installed aluminum flex vent might need to be cleaned twice a year.
So, while you can’t do anything about your dryer vent without tearing apart your drywall, you can replace your dryer.
But, if that is not possible, make sure you clean the lint after every load. Cleaning the lint trap regularly will extend the life of your dryer and keep the vent clog-free for a longer time.
